As standard MPC Live ships with 16GB of internal Micro SD storage. Seeking to incorporate your own samples without tethering to a computer? MPC Live features a 2.5” SATA drive connector providing expanded storage via SSD or HDD hard drives. Additionally, sounds can be accessed and added to the library using the built-in SD Card slot or the USB thumb drive.

Redefining the creative vista and driving MPC Live in a standalone and controller mode is Akai Professional’s reimagined MPC Software 2; a cutting-edge production suite combining 128-track sequencing capability, real-time time stretching, clip-launch functionality, advanced MIDI editing capability, VST compatibility in controller mode, operation as a standalone application on Mac & PC, advanced sampling & audio editing/recording functionality, seamless DAW integration, a redesigned GUI and much more.

Onboard Synth Engines

New in MPC is a number of powerful production and performance features, most notably the addition of three powerful, versatile, and expressive built-in synthesizers by AIR Music Technology (TubeSynth, Bassline and Electric).

This is a landmark feature addition which elevates the MPC from a sampler to a true musical powerhouse.

Effects and Plugins

The original AIR Creative FX collection has been included as part of Pro Tools since Version 8 and is considered the reference FX suite by some of the world’s most respected audio professionals.

This legendary suite of 16 mix essentials has been ported to MPC for immediate use with standalone or desktop MPC software. Each effect has been expertly designed with ease of use in mind and the stunning new TUI layouts take using effects inside MPC to a whole new level.

2.3 saw standalone synth engines, 2.4 introduced a suite of 28 must-have effects from critically-acclaimed DSP gurus AIR Music Technology – and a much-requested side-chain compressor, the Mother Ducker.

Now with 2.6, MPC provides a number of user-requested enhancements and workflow requirements – most notably functionality to input automation in both the Step Sequencer and Grid Editor, alongside Ableton Live Set Export facilities.

Wireless Ableton Live Integration

MPC Live and MPC X now come pre-mapped to Ableton Live for an instant performance and production setup. Users have complete command over Live’s clip launching, mixer and instrument macro controls wirelessly via Wi-Fi network Ableton Link or by ethernet connection using a USB to ethernet adapter.

Ableton Live Control mode has been carefully designed to enable users to instantly switch between standalone operation and Live Control mode without ever stopping playback from either ecosystem.
