While we are all stuck inside wishing that we could enjoy going to shows and concerts with our friends and family, the best we can do now is reminisce on our favorite clubs to attend. These clubs around the world bring us happy times and memories that we will never forget. We have seen our favorite artists here and discovered new artists that have become our favorites. Let’s take some time to bring us back to these good times as we go through the to 10 clubs in the world.
1. Green Valley
Green Valley is located in Camboriú, Brazil, just outside or Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. This club started as just a party put on by some edm fans, which turned into a massive rave with top international DJ’s. In 2013, 2015, and 2018-2020 the club has been voted number 1 in the world by the fans. Green Valley holds 12,000 fans and continues to book top talent like Carl Cox, FISHER, Nicky Romero and many more. As this club is always growing we are excited to how long it will stay at the number 1 spot.
2. Hï Ibiza
With being in the party capital of the world, it is no surprise that Hï Ibiza, in Ibiza, Spain, is number 2 on the list. This club hold 4,500 patrons and through the summer season is packed to capacity with the best acts in all of edm. Hï Ibiza has brought artists like David Guetta, Black Coffee and Basement Jaxx. This clubs brings more than just talent as the production is second to none with 3 different spaces providing completely different atmospheres. We will see if Hï Ibiza rises to number 1 in 2021.
Echostage is locate in our nations capital, Washington D.C., and has been ranked the number 1 club in North America multiple times. Since 2012, GLOW, D.C.’s longest-running electronic music promotions company, has been putting on incredible shows and improving technology and production to keep up with the times. DJ’s like Skrillex, Diplo and Martin Garrix have sold out shows in this 3,000 person club, time and time again. Will any other North American club be able to take over the top spot from Echostage?
As we make our way back to the party capital of the world, Ibiza, Spain, we visit Ushuaïa which has been in the top 10 many times. This club holds 7,500 patrons and prides itself on being luxurious by having the best VIP experience in the world. Ushuaïa makes you feel as if you were at a music festival rather than just a show. This club has had resident artists like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Calvin Harris, and holds the honor of being Avicii’s last venue to perform in. I am sure that this iconic club will continue to stay at the top of this list for a long time.
Coming in at number 5, Printworks in London, England is a one of a kind experience that makes it clear to understand why it is on the list. Where other than the UK would you find yourself partying in a club that is like several warehouses linked together, set across 12 acres of land. The production experience with incredible lighting and sounds continues to pack this 5,000 person industrial-like venue. Some of the top artists to perform her are Klockworks, London Elektricity and Skepta.
Situated in a former boat house, this 1,800 person venue in Cologne, Germany has been the highest ranked German club for the past 2 years. Bootshaus has 3 separate rooms and a massive outdoor space to provide a different experience everywhere you go. This venue has brought the likes of Steve Aoki, DJ Snake and Oliver Heldens to continue to return. As the top German club I am sure Bootshaus will keep pushing the limits to rise up the list next year.
Papaya, a completely outdoor space, located on a beach in Zrce Beach, Island of Pag, Croatia holds 3,500 patrons. This club is breathtaking to any club goer and visitor and is open for the summer months of late May to early September. Papaya brings multiple festivals every year and will continue to evolve in the future. Some incredible artists to play Papaya hav been Don Diablo, Amelie Lens and Timmy Trumpet.
With the second German club in the top 10, Berghain located in Berlin, Germany holds a capacity of 1,500 people. Berghain is an iconic venue situated between 2 districts in Berlin and has been open since 2004 as a home for techno and house music. This is an experimental club hosting top acts and new artists in the likes of Rødhåd, DVS1 and Massimiliano Pagliara. Let’s see if Berghain can take over Bootshaus next year.
9. Zouk Singapore
Zouk Singapore is the highest ranked Asian club on the list and makes sense because it is basically 4 clubs in one, holding up to 2,900 people. The clubs aesthetics are based on underground New York and Berlin rave clubs. Zouk has a very futuristic feel with massive lighting displays and furniture that brings you into a cosmic experience. Musically, trance, hip-hop and ‘90s classics are what you will find and artists including Charlotte de Witte, Sven Väth, Kaiserdisco and Markus Schulz are the top acts.
Rounding out our list is another Asian club, Octagon located in Seoul, South Korea has a capacity of 3,000 patrons. The club is the largest club ever built in South Korea and is extremely beautiful with amazing Korean style. Octagon originally started as a karaoke lounge and has transformed into a club that has hosted after-parties for Ultra Korea and EDC Korea, and the DJ competition, Redbull 3style Korea.
For all who have attended any of these clubs, I hope you have memories that will last a lifetime. We all cannot wait to get back to our favorite places enjoying the best music in the world with the people we love.
